The last Great War

The records vary but common parlance places this event at some time over a thousand years ago. A lot of the records have been destroyed or lost and so most of the account is simply passed along orally or has been reconstructed from fragments. That being stated here is what is known. At some juncture the whole world was at war. The twelve races fought against an unknown foe using Magic and technology that lays lost in ruins to this day. There is no record of why the war started but it consumed every piece in Andareal destroying billions of lives and ending eon long empires and kingdoms. When the dust settles at the end there were no homes left to go to and the separate races, clans, tribes and families departed to wherever they could find shelter and food. It would be over 600 years before any significant grouping of civilization would rise again.
